Hommage Andreas Gursky’s photograph „Rhein II.”
*****
The Rhein II. photograph was produced as the second of a set of six depicting the river Rhine. In the image, the Lower Rhine flows horizontally across the field of view, between flat green fields, under an overcast sky. It was taken near Düsseldorf.
In 2011, a print was auctioned for $4.3 million (then £2.7m), making it the most expensive photograph sold.
*****
This picture was taken in Fonyód, at Lake Balaton, as a tribute to Gursky’s work „Rhine II”.
We are sure that it will never be worth that much, but we can say that it is a well-made photo of the calm and peaceful Lake Balaton. 🙂💙🖖
